Joint interview with Mrs. Anne Davis and Don Davis concerning their experiences as owners of the Davis Purity Bakery in Denton, Texas. Anne Davis, founder (with her husband, Jack T. Davis) of Davis Purity Bakery, discusses her family background, the Depression, the purchase of Purity Bakery, and her early learning experiences. She also talks about equipment, products, commercial and institutional accounts, business fluxuations, the sugar crisis, pricing, a typical workday, and credit policies. Her son, Don Davis, discusses his family background and education, his early work in the family bakery, his learning experiences, his military service, and his return to the bakery after his father's death. Don also speaks about the family involvement in the business, the growth of the business, shortages, price fluxuations, government regulations, employment, and the reasons for the company's success.
